I’m so thrilled that In the Loupe TV would select my “Detroit Portraits” project as part of their “Projects We Love” series. As if that alone wasn’t enough to make my day here’s a quick quote from their write up on my project:
“We are particularly enamored of projects that find meaning close to home and give voice to people who don’t have a way to speak out to the larger world. The people in Brian‘s portraits stare right at us and tell us they matter, even when it seems we’re being told they don’t.”

In The Loupe TV is a very influential blog that consists of photography industry insiders Stella Kramer and Julie Grahame. Stella is a photo editor and consultant (a Pulitzer Prize Winner I might add!) and Julie is Editor in Chief of www.acurator.com as well as the manager of The Estate of Yousuf Karsh (yes, Karsh!). I’m extremely grateful for their encouragement.
Please visit my Kickstarter pledge page to find out how you can support my Detroit Portraits. I can accept pledges as small as a dollar! I also offer signed archival prints from the project at various pledge levels so it’s a nice exchange for your support of this important work.
