This is Mike the Driver. He manages a fleet of about 10 vehicles and drivers for the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries. Mike is full of the most incredible stories of his criminal past…he’s been shot, went away to prison for more than a decade, etc, etc. But he’s maintained a fantastic sense of humor and is obviously a radically transformed individual. Mike is on call 24/7 and often pulls himself out of bed at 3 AM just to sit with people who are struggling to maintain their sobriety. I must have heard him answer “Whatever you need” a dozen times when he took us on a tour of DRMM. I asked Mike if he thought I could make it in prison if I ever got locked up…and he said, “No, you’re too buttery.” Point taken, Mike…point taken :)
